Incidence Continues to Rise with Social Development

With the constant acceleration in the pace of work and life, the incidence of mental and neurological disorders has also risen sharply. As the burden of mental disorders grows across the world, our work and quality of life have suffered, which in turn leads to serious social, human rights, and economic repercussions.

Mental disorders include: depression, schizophrenia, dementia, etc.

Progress made

Patients with mental disorders are often found to be suffering from immense physical and emotional pains, which affects normal activities of daily life, and places a heavy burden on the patients and their families.

  • We have worked with physicians to establish a psychological counseling platform and share mental health information, etc. Our efforts have helped to treat some patients with mild mental disorders or improve their conditions in a timely manner.
  • We have also developed a number of unique drugs against common mental disorders such as sleep disorders, depression, and schizophrenia. By combining Traditional Chinese Medicine with modern medicine, and constantly consolidating our experiences, we have developed the Shuganjieyu capsule, an evidence-based medicine which has been scientifically verified. Compared with traditional antidepressants, the Shuganjieyu capsule enjoys a lower rate of adverse reactions, better safety, and greater efficacy without statistically significant differences. Furthermore, compliance in patients with moderate to mild depression is particularly high. Kanghong Pharmaceutical has also launched several chemical drugs with multiple patented technologies, such as aripiprazole orally-disintegrating tablets and aripiprazole oral solution, venlafaxine hydrochloride sustained-release tablets and dexzopiclone tablets, all of which are leading brands in their respective therapeutic fields.
Moving forward

Kanghong Pharmaceutical hopes to provide patients with safer, more effective and convenient medicines through innovation, as well as improve the quality of life of patients and their families. For example, Alzheimer's disease is a progressive disease in the field of dementia, for which there is currently no effective cure. There are only 4 approved therapeutic drugs which can improve symptoms to a certain extent, but are unable to stop the progression of the disease.

Effective drugs developed by Kanghong Pharmaceutical based on current clinical experience in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease have entered Phase IIb clinical studies in China.

In addition, we are paying close attention to the diagnosis and treatment of mental health issues in underdeveloped regions, and we are striving to promote the improvement of such diagnosis and treatment in these areas through open classes and academic exchanges.
